We have never seen such a thing in our lifetimes including those who may be 100 years old. Even during wartime the country did not have the restrictions we are experiencing today. I realize it has been a challenge for most of us but we will get through it. My concern is that you continue what you are doing contacting one another and helping each other especially calling those you know who are spending so much of this time alone. Your voice is an encouragement to those who are in need. I understand that loneliness is the biggest problem with this stay at home order.
Remember we are never alone. I read an article where someone had the following discussion with God. “As I allayed his fears, I started to think of how that exchange is much like my relationship with God. I ask Him questions to things He’s often already told me the answer to.
“God? Are you there?”
“Yes, I’m right here.”
“God, I feel lonely.”
“You might feel lonely, but you’re not alone.”
“God, you won’t leave me right?
“Sweetheart, I’ve already told you, and put it in writing in my Word just to assure you. I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
How often do we just need God’s assurance, as our Good Father, that He is there, and that we are not alone? I have listed several scriptures that you can look up and reassure yourself that God is there. Sometimes even when others are with us we need this assurance because loneliness can be still be felt. We are experiencing something we never had to do deal with – social distancing. That is not the we as
humans are put together. Touch means so much even if just a handshake or an arm around the shoulder, a hug. I read where a hug that releases stress should last as least 20 seconds. Most of us would take a short one today. But the arms of Jesus are wrapped around you. He is there. Call upon Him to help you and He will.
