Easter News

March 29, 2021 By Ray Beard Leave a Comment

“Alleluia, Christ has Risen.” No better words could be spoken.  No better news could be delivered.  No better promise could be made.  “Praise God, Christ has Risen!”  The news came to the three women, to the disciples, to 500 who witnessed it and has been carried on down through the centuries to us.  Why has such a message lasted so long and continues to have impact on the world?  Because it is God’s way of telling us how much we are loved and that we, as did Christ, will rise again to be with Jesus in a place that we call heaven.

Jesus said,  “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (Jn11:25, 26)  And if you answer that with a “yes” then there is no fear in death.. “Where, O death, is your victory?  Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” ( I Cor 15:55-57)

When Jesus was born, good news; when Jesus died and then arose, better news, when Jesus comes again, great news because “a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away” (Rev.21:1) But the news that tops it all, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.  Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.” (Rev. 21:6, 7)

We are a people that live by that news and the hope of that news.  We are a people who know that this is the news the world really needs to hear.  What a better world we would live in today but wait until Christ comes and anticipate the world we will live in tomorrow.  This, on the news “Alleluia, Christ has Risen.”

Be Encouraged, Ray
